Development Log - Day 2: Project Poof Progress Report
Team Momentum and Collaboration:
Day 2 of Project Poof's development brought forth a surge of progress and collaboration. The team's dedication and shared enthusiasm propelled us further into the intricate process of game development. Each member has been diligently working on their assigned tasks, contributing valuable elements to bring our collective vision to life.
Technical Progress:
Kris, the versatile Game Designer, Engineer, and Animator, has been instrumental in setting up the project for multiplayer functionality for Steam. His expertise in character controllers and project/version control has laid the groundwork for a seamless gaming experience. The multiplayer aspect adds an exciting layer to the escape journey in the bone-chewing creatures' realm.
Environment Art and Level Design:
Caiden's creativity has flourished as he crafted numerous environment art assets. These assets have been seamlessly integrated into the game engine, creating a visually captivating atmosphere. Additionally, Caiden has been actively testing the overall flow of level design in our tester level, ensuring that the gameplay aligns with our initial concepts.
Skybox, Lighting, and Music Composition:
Joao has been shaping the visual and auditory aspects of Project Poof. Working on the skybox and lighting design, Joao aims to enhance the immersive quality of the alternate dimension. Furthermore, he's scaling our initial practice level to harmonize with our evolving gameplay ideas. Joao has also contributed to the atmospheric allure of the game by composing some enchanting music that of which Mauricio was able to build upon for our overall menu and theme music.
Character Model and Animation Rig:
Mare, our 3D Character Artist and Animator, has been hard at work creating the playable character model and animation rig. Boney, our soul-reaping skeleton protagonist, is gradually coming to life through Mare's skillful craftsmanship. The character animations promise to add depth and personality to the gaming experience.
UI/Menu Design and Reference Gathering:
Lulu, with her expertise in 2D art and UI/UX design, is channeling her creativity towards crafting the UI and Menu design. She's actively gathering references to ensure that the visual elements align with the overall feel we aim to achieve. Lulu's work contributes to the overall polish and user-friendliness of Project Poof.
Team Dynamics and Excitement:
As the day progressed, the team's collaborative energy continued to grow. Each member's unique contributions seamlessly intertwined, forming a cohesive and immersive gaming experience. The sense of accomplishment and excitement within the team is palpable, reflecting the passion we share for bringing Project Poof to life.
