Development Log - Day 1: Project Poof
Team Gathering and Brainstorming Session:
Yesterday marked the beginning of our 2-day game jam adventure, and Team Poof is off to an enthusiastic start! The theme "Escape" inspired our brainstorming session, and after several creative exchanges, we converged on the captivating concept of "Project Poof."
Team Dynamics:
Our diverse team of six members, each with unique skills, blended seamlessly during the brainstorming session. Caiden, Kris, Joao, Mare, Lulu, and Mauricio quickly found their comfy places in their respective fields as we embarked on deciding the idea for our project. The synergy within the team created an electric atmosphere, setting the stage for a collaborative and productive game development process.

Project Poof - The Concept:
In the alternate world of bone-chewing creatures like vultures and wolves, we introduce our protagonist, Boney, a Soul Reaper Skeleton sent to collect souls. The twist in the plot comes when Boney realizes that this dimension is overrun by bone-hungry corrupted creatures.
The game kicks off in a mysterious forest setting, where Boney must navigate through challenges to escape the relentless pursuit of red-eyed wolves and vultures emanating a red soul-like aura. The objective is not only to defeat these creatures but to cure them of their corruption, transforming them into peaceful entities that no longer threaten Boney.
Gameplay Mechanics:
To tackle the challenges of the forest, players must strategically approach the corrupted creatures, using Boney's scythe to purify them. However, failure to rid them of corruption leads to relentless spawning and continued attacks.
The puzzles within the game have a few different ways to approach them in order to get a successful escape, making for an engaging gameplay experience. One of the ways Boney can survive this realm revolves around mastering the art of sneaking up on the corrupted creatures, this mechanic not only aligns with the theme of escape but also adds an element of strategy and suspense to the overall game. Boney must also navigate their environment to Solve the overarching puzzles to each of the Levels. While focusing on their master strategy for eliminating enemies, building defenses or going for the loot.. it takes a master of all or a master of none, it's up to you to decide.
Excitement and Progress:
As the first day came to a close, the team shared a sense of accomplishment and excitement for what lies ahead. The collaborative spirit and creative energy fueled our progress, setting the stage for a promising second day of development. Team Poof is poised to deliver a unique and captivating escape experience in the world of bone-chewing creatures.
